This collection includes still life, intimate landscape, dance and movement and the figure. I work either from life or from my own photographs. I try to keep my colors rich and saturated, and to retain those elements that keep the work fresh and alive.

My favorite way to paint with watercolor is to find the ideal balance of spontaneity and precision. Water, being water, tends to go where it wants to go. It can take years to figure out how much pigment to add; how long to let something dry; and how certain colors will mix when placed next to each another. Watercolor painting isn't that different from riding the river rapids: you have to jump in and hang on for dear life, but not too tightly.
